Pre-war cars are the great RAID classics. They attract maximum attention: the public always greets veteran cars with enthusiasm and applause. The average speeds are appropriate to the terrain, the indicated time slots are chosen to make each leg achievable. For years now, the spirit of camaraderie amongst the veteran drivers on the RAID has been legendary.

RAID’s traditional category. This is where you meet men and women whose goal is the pleasure of the drive itself. However, the sporty, competitive element is not lost either.

For drivers wanting to drive the RAID without any rally trials. Roadbook-led but without any rally features; no placement in final rankings. Applications will be considered in the order of arrival. The organisers reserve the right to limit the number of entries.

Higher average speeds and a night stage on Thursday, 24th August (approx. 50 km). The dinner before start of the night stage in a castle where there is lots to see. Additional fee for the night stage, per vehicle: CHF 130.– (2 persons). For the night stage to take place at least 25 cars have to register. Registration is binding.

Special classifications

Regardless of the category in which you drive – you may join special challenges as an additional treat.

Once you have decided on one of these categories, you have the option of entering one of the three following classifications. This is one of the RAID’s unique features. Winners of these special classifications are awarded their specific prize at the Award Presentation Ceremony.

Team classification

For all those who want to drive the RAID with friends, acquaintances or business associates. A team can be made up of any three cars, whatever category they are entered for. The winning team is the one with the lowest number of penalty points of any registered team.

The Ladies' Cup

This is a RAID speciality. The RAID has featured its Ladies’ Cup since 1994: a special classification reserved exclusively for all-female teams. The best-placed team wins the RAID Ladies’ Cup. All registered female teams automatically become members of the RAID Ladies’ Club.

Young RAIDER's Trophy - since 2008!

Specifically for young RAID drivers. Increasing numbers of young people are discovering the attraction of driving classic cars, and thus carrying forward the tradition of historic cars. This classification is therefore aimed at competitors up to and including the age of 35. They benefit from a CHF 300.- reduction in entry fee. The Young Raiders’ Trophy is awarded to the highest-placed young team.

Classification

Categories: Separate ranking lists for each category Veterans, Sports and Tourisme (1st – 3rd prize per category).

Overall ranking: For category Veterans, Sports and Tourisme (1st - 3rd overall prize).

Team: Three vehicles (category is not relevant) may form a team for the team ranking. Winner is the team with the lowest number of penalty points

Ladies’ Cup: The best ladies’ team in the overall ranking will receive the Ladies’Cup in Paris

Young RAIDER's Trophy: The best young team wins this prize
