WinterRAID - the mythe

Hard and rough mountain winters

venturous those, conquering steep passes on snow and ice,

fearing neither snow storm nor freezing temperatures

and wholly enjoying entirely different delights of driving,

competing with likeminded people in a sportive challenge:

At the early crack of dawn, almost still in the crisp cold

winter night, hardly noticing the cold,

starting in new day!

Finally, dawn yields

to the first sunbeams over glittering mountain tops.

and after a long day of overcoming obstacle after obstacle

at last the destination is reached, in darkness again.

However then, in the hospitable hotel full of warmth,

and languorous comfort, enjoying delicious food,

companionship and happiness and knowing:

I have been part of and experienced something exceptional.

This is what amounts to the WinterRAID myth,

time and again.
