An unforgettable rally begins – memorable impressions

Already the start on the round inner courtyard of the Basel Fair is unique. Thousands of spectators will applaud you when you are on the starting podium and only minutes later you will be on your way through the Via Pirelli on the grand route to Paris.

The first day’s destination is the scenic town Besancon on the Doubs River.

The great RAID-day

Start on the Place de la Révolution in front of a splendid old town setting, journey through the Burgundy wine regions to a private chateau, where the Comte de Villefranche will welcome you personally to the famous lunch buffet.

Followed by the Côte d’Or with views over the vast countryside, the history laden region around Colombey-les-deux Eglises, where General de Gaulle is buried, as well as small charming villages and lakes. Finally Troyes! For the first time ever you will stay overnight in this splendidly preserved town that was never afflicted by wars!

Along the route, as during all three rally days: driving according to roadbook, navigation, special tests. All elements of an exciting rally!

The category Sport will drive on special routes, at higher average speed and will pass additional tests as well as a long, and as usual very difficult night stage. A real challenge for ambitious drivers.

Totally new perspective in the steep turns of Montlhéry 

From Troyes the route continues to Paris, passing the Château of Tilly-La Motte. Many of the RAID roads seem to have been drawn with a ruler, and indication that you are nearing Paris.

Through the royal woods near Fontainebleau the route leads to the famous, perfectly preserved circuit of Montlhéry, built in 1924, where speed records were set and topped again, a stronghold of automotive culture. Here you will drive through the famous steep turns, you will discover a totally new side of your oldtimer. Everything is authentic, you will experience the original, not a mere revival. Driving on the Montlhéry circuit is a once in a lifetime experience not to miss!

Afterwards short transfer to the Hotel Le Méridien Etoile in Paris, in the vicinity of the Arc de Triomphe. Gala dinner and distribution of prizes.
